What we do, and how it is scoped.
Senior advisory across data strategy, platform architecture, information governance and delivery leadership.
Every engagement is scoped to a defined outcome with named deliverables — which keeps the work reviewable and keeps the commercial and IR35 position clean for both sides.
Service
Digital & Data Transformation Advisory
Strategy that survives contact with delivery.
Target operating models, data strategy, roadmap definition and the commercial analysis that has to sit underneath them. Written to be delivered, not to be presented once and shelved.
- Data and digital strategy development, and review of existing strategy
- Target operating model and capability design for data functions
- Roadmap sequencing, dependency and delivery-risk analysis
- Business case, options appraisal and commercial analysis
- Board and committee-ready papers written in plain English
Service
Data Platform Architecture & Cost Optimisation
Design that scales, and a bill that does not.
Platform architecture and cost review across Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse and Power BI. Consumption-based platforms drift upward by default; reducing spend without losing capability is a design problem, not a procurement one.
- Platform architecture design and independent architecture review
- Cost optimisation: consumption modelling, workload right-sizing, storage tiering
- Migration and modernisation options appraisal (on-premise to cloud, or platform to platform)
- Data integration and pipeline design at portfolio scale
- Vendor-neutral advice — no reseller margin, no platform allegiance
Service
Information Governance & Privacy-by-Design
Get the governance right and the data flows stop stalling.
IG framework design, DPIAs, and privacy-by-design architecture — including pseudonymisation-at-source patterns that have been running in live NHS services for over a decade. Delivered by a former Head of Information Governance, so the advice is grounded in having owned the risk.
- IG framework, policy and operating-model design
- Data Protection Impact Assessments, and DPIA process design
- Pseudonymisation-at-source and privacy-by-design architecture patterns
- Lawful basis, data-sharing agreement and information-sharing review
- UK GDPR / Data Protection Act compliance review and remediation planning
- Support for data-sharing projects that have stalled on governance
Service
Programme & Portfolio Leadership (Interim)
Senior delivery leadership, for as long as you need it.
Interim leadership of data and digital programmes in regulated environments — including recovery of programmes that have lost confidence, and growing delivery teams without losing quality.
- Interim head-of / director-level leadership for data and digital functions
- Programme and portfolio recovery, replanning and assurance
- Team design, capability build and scaling
- Supplier and delivery-partner management
- Assurance reviews and independent gate reviews
Service
ICB & Commissioning Data Support
Built for how commissioning data actually works.
Direct support for Integrated Care Boards and commissioning organisations: population health analytics, data integration across providers, and the governance to make it lawful and usable.
- Population health management and analytics capability development
- Multi-provider data integration and linkage design
- Commissioning data flows, secondary-use governance and DSPT readiness
- Analytical capability and team development within ICBs
- Transformation support for commissioning data functions
How engagements are shaped
2–10 days
Short advisory
An architecture review, a cost-optimisation assessment, a DPIA, a second opinion on a strategy or business case. Fixed scope, fixed fee, written output.
4–12 weeks
Defined-outcome package
Strategy development, target operating model, IG framework design, platform options appraisal. Milestone-based with an agreed deliverable set.
Ongoing
Interim leadership
Part-time or full-time leadership of a data function or programme, with a defined remit and a planned handover.
Rates depend on route and engagement shape and are confirmed in writing before any work starts. Day rates are published for framework routes; direct engagements are quoted against scope.
